SS501

SS501 was a South Korean boy band formed by DSP Media, then known as Daesung Enterprise. The group debuted on June 8, 2005, with five members: Kim Hyun-joong, Heo Young-saeng, Kim Kyu-jong, Kim Hyung-jun, and Park Jung-min. The name SS501 is a combination of the letters and numbers that have special meanings and create a symbolic meaning. The first "S" stands for "Super" and the second "S" stands for "Star." The number 5 represents the five members of the group, and the number 0 represents eternity.

SS501 released their debut single "Warning" in 2005, quickly gaining popularity. They went on to release several successful albums and singles in both South Korea and Japan. The group was known for their diverse musical styles, ranging from powerful dance tracks to ballads. They also explored acting and variety show appearances.

In 2010, the members' contracts with DSP Media expired, and they did not renew as a group. While they officially did not disband, the members pursued solo careers and activities under different agencies. Despite this, SS501 remained a significant group in the K-pop industry, with their music and performances continuing to be remembered by fans. Their legacy includes a dedicated fanbase and a notable impact on the early stages of the second generation of K-pop.
