Holter monitors are a common type of portable ECG device that continuously records the heart's electrical activity for 24 to 48 hours, or sometimes longer, typically worn by patients during their daily activities. Implantable loop recorders (ILRs) are small devices surgically implanted under the skin that can record heart rhythms for extended periods, sometimes years, and are used for more persistent or infrequent arrhythmias.
