RunicTalf is a fictional writing system and cipher in the fantasy setting known as Eldara. It combines a runic alphabet with talismanic sigils to encode messages and inscribe ceremonial wards.

Origins and development: According to in-world lore, RunicTalf was conceived by the Archivists of the Obsidian Gate during the Midmira era to consolidate linguistic and ritual knowledge. The oldest surviving inscriptions are attributed to the Third Dynasty, dating roughly two millennia before the present.

Structure and notation: RunicTalf uses a core alphabet of about 40 runes. Each rune has phonetic value and an associated semantic field drawn from natural forces or social concepts.
