Rummelpott
The Rummelpott is a traditional folk instrument, primarily found in Northern Germany and Denmark. It belongs to the idiophone category, meaning it produces sound through its own vibration. Essentially, it is a ceramic pot, often with a hole in the bottom, into which a pig's bladder or a membrane is stretched and secured. A reed, typically made of wood or straw, is then inserted through the hole and attached to the membrane. By moving the reed back and forth, or by twisting the pot, the membrane vibrates, producing a distinctive buzzing or rattling sound.
Historically, the Rummelpott was played during the carnival season, particularly on New Year's Eve and Twelfth
