Rudiae
Rudiae is an ancient urban site in southern Italy, situated in the region of Apulia and associated with the area around present-day Lecce. The town is identified with the pre-Roman Messapian culture that inhabited the Salentine peninsula and played a role in the region’s early urbanization before Roman conquest. In classical and later sources, Rudiae is noted as one of the local centers that formed part of the Messapian landscape.
