In the imagined framework, riuscitia is a framework-rich silicate–phosphate phase featuring a three-dimensional network of tetrahedra that accommodate alkali and alkaline-earth cations. The composition is described as variable, often with trace rare‑earth elements, and its crystallography is proposed as monoclinic, reflecting compositional flexibility.

Physical properties are given as a glassy to translucent material, typically pale green to blue, with a vitreous luster. Reported hardness is around 5 on the Mohs scale, and the specific gravity is near 2.8–3.2. The material may show weak pleochroism in certain orientations.
