Rintalihasnerven

Rintalihasnerven, also known as the pectoral nerves, are a pair of nerves that originate from the brachial plexus in the neck and shoulder. The primary pectoral nerves are the pectoral major nerve and the pectoral minor nerve.

The pectoral major nerve innervates the pectoralis major muscle, a large muscle of the chest responsible for arm adduction, flexion, and internal rotation. The pectoral minor nerve supplies the pectoralis minor muscle, a smaller muscle situated beneath the pectoralis major, which helps to stabilize the scapula and protract the shoulder.

These nerves play a crucial role in controlling the movements of the upper chest and shoulder girdle. Injuries to the rintalihasnerven can result from trauma, surgery, or repetitive strain, leading to weakness or paralysis of the pectoral muscles. This can manifest as difficulty performing actions like pushing, lifting, or raising the arm. Symptoms may include pain, numbness, or a tingling sensation in the chest and arm.
