Ecology: Pollination reportedly involves hummingbirds and long-tongued bees; seed dispersal is primarily by gravity, with occasional involvement of small mammals. Seeds germinate best after seasonal rainfall.

Taxonomy and history: The genus was first described in a fictional flora of Veridia published in 1999. The type species is Resorbera viridis.

Etymology: The name Resorbera derives from Latin resorbere meaning to swallow back, reflecting a conceptual trait in the fictional organism and its use in teaching contexts.
