Regasifikaatio

Regasifikaatio is a Finnish term referring to the process of returning a gas to a liquid state. This typically involves cooling the gas, which reduces the kinetic energy of its molecules, allowing intermolecular forces to become dominant and causing the gas to condense into a liquid. The specific conditions, such as temperature and pressure, required for regasification depend on the substance in question. For example, liquefied natural gas (LNG) undergoes regasification at receiving terminals to be distributed as natural gas. This process is crucial in various industrial applications and energy logistics, enabling the transport and storage of gases in a more compact and manageable liquid form. The reverse process, liquefaction, involves taking a substance from a liquid state to a gaseous state, often through heating or reducing pressure.
