Reflektiivsete

Reflektiivsete is a term used in Estonian linguistics to refer to reflexive forms and constructions. In a broad linguistic sense, reflexivity marks a relationship where the participant acting in an event is also its patient, or where the action is directed back onto the subject. Reflektiivsete thus covers a range of forms that convey this self-directed or reflexive meaning, including reflexive pronouns, reflexive verb forms, and certain periphrastic constructions.

Across languages, reflexivity is realized through different devices. Some languages use dedicated reflexive pronouns that accompany the verb, as in English with myself, yourself, themselves.
