Rauta(II)hydroksidiyhdisteitä refers to chemical compounds containing iron in its +2 oxidation state and hydroxide ions. The most common and well-known rauta(II)hydroksidiyhdiste is iron(II) hydroxide, Fe(OH)2. This compound is typically a white precipitate that rapidly oxidizes in the presence of air, turning green and eventually reddish-brown due to the formation of iron(III) compounds.

Iron(II) hydroxide is sparingly soluble in water. It is a basic compound and reacts with acids to form iron(II) salts and water. Its synthesis can be achieved by reacting a soluble iron(II) salt, such as iron(II) sulfate or iron(II) chloride, with a soluble hydroxide, like sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. Other less common rauta(II)hydroksidiyhdisteitä might involve complexation with organic ligands or incorporation into mineral structures, but Fe(OH)2 remains the primary example.
