Rasvahappesterien
Rasvahappesterien, often translated as fatty acid esters, are a class of organic compounds formed by the reaction of a fatty acid with an alcohol. This reaction, known as esterification, results in the formation of an ester linkage, where the hydroxyl group of the alcohol is replaced by the carboxyl group of the fatty acid. The resulting molecule has a polar head (derived from the alcohol) and a nonpolar tail (derived from the fatty acid).
These compounds are widespread in nature and play various roles. For example, triglycerides, the main components
Industrially, fatty acid esters have a broad range of applications. They are used as emulsifiers in food
