Rameses
Rameses is a name borne by several ancient Egyptian pharaohs, most notably Rameses II, also known as Rameses the Great. He was the third pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty and reigned for 66 years, from 1279 to 1213 BCE. Rameses II is renowned for his extensive building projects, including the temples at Abu Simbel and the Ramesseum, his mortuary temple. He also led the Egyptians in the Battle of Kadesh against the Hittite Empire, an event that became a cornerstone of Egyptian propaganda.
