Rahvusringhäälingu

Rahvusringhäälingu, also known as Estonian Public Broadcasting, is the national public broadcaster of Estonia. It was established on June 1, 2007, as a result of the merger of two previously separate public broadcasters, Eesti Televisioon (ETV) and Eesti Raadio (ER). The primary mission of Rahvusringhäälingu is to serve the Estonian public by providing a wide range of high-quality, diverse, and independent media content.

The organization operates several television channels and radio stations, catering to different audiences and interests. ETV, the television arm, offers news, current affairs, documentaries, cultural programs, and entertainment. Eesti Raadio, the radio arm, operates multiple stations, including Vikerraadio, which provides general programming, Raadio 2 focusing on popular music and youth culture, Klassikaraadio dedicated to classical music, and Raadio 4 broadcasting in Russian for the Russian-speaking minority.

Rahvusringhäälingu is funded primarily through state budget allocations and advertising revenue. It is committed to upholding journalistic ethics, promoting Estonian culture and language, and reflecting the diversity of Estonian society.
