Racionalligjior

Racionalligjior, also known as Rationalism, is a philosophical movement that emphasizes reason as the primary source of knowledge and belief. It emerged during the 17th century as a reaction against the prevailing scholasticism and empiricism of the time. Rationalists argue that certain truths can be known a priori, that is, independently of experience. This is in contrast to empiricists, who believe that all knowledge comes from sensory experience.

The most prominent figures of Rationalism include René Descartes, who is often credited with founding modern philosophy. Descartes' famous dictum "Cogito, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am) illustrates his belief in the power of reason to provide certain knowledge. Other key Rationalists include Baruch Spinoza, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and Blaise Pascal.

Rationalism has had a significant impact on various fields, including mathematics, science, and politics. It has influenced the development of modern logic and the scientific method, which relies on rational inquiry and evidence. In politics, Rationalism has been associated with ideas of social contract and natural law, which emphasize reason and morality as guiding principles.

However, Rationalism has also faced criticism, particularly from empiricists who argue that reason alone cannot provide all the knowledge we need.
