RNAgenomi
RNAgenomi is a term that refers to the genetic material of an organism or virus that is composed of ribonucleic acid (RNA). Unlike the more common deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), RNA is typically single-stranded and contains uracil instead of thymine. While DNA serves as the primary blueprint for most life forms, RNA plays a crucial role in gene expression, protein synthesis, and regulatory functions within cells.
In certain viruses, known as RNA viruses, the RNA genome is the sole carrier of genetic information.
Beyond viruses, RNA molecules themselves can carry genetic information in various biological contexts. Small non-coding RNAs,
