RET

ret is a term that can refer to different concepts across disciplines. In computing, ret is the mnemonic for a return instruction in many assembly languages, notably x86. The instruction transfers execution back to the address on the top of the stack, effectively returning from a subroutine. Some variants adjust the stack after returning (for example, specifying an immediate value to add to the stack pointer).
