RCMP

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, often referred to as the RCMP or Mounties, is Canada's national police force. It provides policing services at federal, provincial, and municipal levels. Established in 1920 through the amalgamation of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police and the Dominion Police, the RCMP has a long history of law enforcement across Canada.

The organization is responsible for enforcing federal laws and regulations, including those related to customs, immigration, and organized crime. At the provincial level, the RCMP acts as the primary police service in eight of Canada's ten provinces. Additionally, it provides municipal policing in over 150 communities and contract policing for 600 Indigenous communities.

The RCMP's iconic red serge uniform is recognized internationally. Its mandate includes crime prevention, investigation, public safety, and national security. The force operates a vast network of detachments and facilities across Canada, employing thousands of officers and civilian members. Its diverse roles reflect its commitment to serving and protecting Canadians.
