R7rocket

R7rocket is an ambiguous term that does not correspond to a single, widely recognized program or vehicle. In many sources it appears as a shorthand or misspelling related to the R-7 family of rockets, rather than as an official designation for a specific contemporary project.

Historically, the closest and most well-known match is the R-7 Semyorka, the Soviet Union’s first intercontinental ballistic missile developed in the 1950s. The R-7 design became highly influential, giving rise to a family of launch vehicles used for orbital missions. Notable derivatives include those that placed the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, into orbit and those that achieved human spaceflight with Vostok and Voskhod. The lineage continued with later launchers such as Molniya, and elements of the R-7 concept persist in the modern Soyuz family, which remains in use today.

In contemporary usage, R7rocket does not designate a current, officially sanctioned program.
