R2NPR2
R2NPR2, also known as Retinaldehyde-binding protein 2, is a protein encoded by the R2NPR2 gene in humans. This gene is located on chromosome 19. The R2NPR2 protein is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily and is primarily expressed in the retina.
Its main function is believed to be related to the metabolism of retinoids, a group of compounds
Dysfunction or mutations in R2NPR2 have been implicated in certain retinal disorders, although research is ongoing.
