Részletkölcsönözés

Részletkölcsönözés, often translated as installment lending or hire purchase, is a financial arrangement where a buyer acquires goods or services and agrees to pay for them in regular, predetermined installments over a specified period. This method allows consumers to obtain items they might not be able to afford outright, deferring the full payment until a later date.

The core of a részletkölcsönözés agreement involves a seller or lender providing an item, such as a vehicle, appliance, or even a holiday, to a buyer. The buyer then makes an initial down payment, which can vary in size. The remaining balance is then divided into a series of equal payments, typically made monthly. These installments usually include both a portion of the principal amount borrowed and an interest charge, reflecting the cost of borrowing.

The ownership of the goods typically transfers to the buyer only after the final installment has been paid in full. Until that point, the seller or lender often retains legal ownership as security for the loan. This arrangement is common for larger purchases where immediate full payment would be prohibitive. It is regulated by consumer protection laws that aim to ensure transparency regarding interest rates, fees, and repayment terms. Failure to meet the installment obligations can lead to repossession of the goods and potential damage to the buyer's credit history.
