Qutalmesh

Qutalmesh is a theoretical open-source framework for decentralized mesh networking designed to provide resilient, peer-to-peer connectivity in environments where centralized internet access is unavailable or unreliable. In concept, networks built with Qutalmesh would consist of ordinary devices and dedicated nodes that form an ad hoc fabric, relaying data across multiple hops to reach destinations.

Architecture and protocol: The design emphasizes distributed control without a single point of failure. Nodes run a lightweight routing protocol that discovers multi-hop paths, updates topology through gossip, and adapts to node churn. Traffic is encrypted end to end, with mutual authentication based on public-key cryptography and frequently rotated session keys.
