Qobustan
Qobustan refers to a historic region in Azerbaijan known for its remarkable collection of ancient rock carvings, or petroglyphs. Located in the semi-desert area of the Absheron Peninsula, southwest of Baku, Qobustan is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The petroglyphs found here are some of the oldest and most extensive in the world, dating back as far as the Upper Paleolithic period, approximately 40,000 years ago.
