Pyrimídín

Pyrimídín is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound similar to benzene and pyridine, containing two nitrogen atoms at positions 1 and 3 of the six-member ring. It is one of the two diazines, the other being pyridazine. Pyrimídín is a colorless solid with a distinct odor. Its molecular formula is C4H4N2 and its molar mass is 80.09 g/mol.

The pyrimidine ring is a fundamental building block in nature, forming the core structure of three of the five nucleobases: cytosine, thymine, and uracil.
