Protsendikoha is an Estonian term that translates to "percentage point" in English. It is used to denote a change in a percentage value. For instance, if an unemployment rate decreases from 7% to 5%, it has fallen by 2 percentage points, not 2 percent. This distinction is crucial for accurately interpreting statistical data and economic indicators.

The concept of percentage points is particularly relevant in fields like economics, finance, and politics where figures are often expressed as percentages. For example, if a central bank raises interest rates by 0.25%, this is a 25 basis point increase. If the inflation rate rises from 3% to 3.5%, this is an increase of 0.5 percentage points.
