Protonëve

Protonëve, in the context of physics, are subatomic particles that are components of atomic nuclei. They are positively charged, with a charge equal in magnitude but opposite in sign to that of electrons. Protons are classified as baryons, a family of particles composed of three quarks, specifically two up quarks and one down quark.

The concept of the proton was first introduced in the early 20th century, with its existence experimentally confirmed in the 1910s. Protons, along with neutrons, form the nucleus of atoms, determining the element's identity and contributing to its atomic mass. The number of protons in the nucleus, called the atomic number, defines the chemical element; for instance, all hydrogen atoms have one proton.

They are produced in high-energy particle collisions, such as those in particle accelerators, and are detected using specialized instruments like scintillators and cloud chambers.
