Proteinencoded is a term used to describe the process by which information stored in the sequence of nucleotides in DNA is converted into the sequence of amino acids in a protein. This process occurs through the central dogma of molecular biology, which states that DNA is transcribed into messenger RNA (mRNA), and then the mRNA is translated into protein.
