Proportsionaalsetes
Proportsionaalsetes is a term used in Estonian to describe relationships in which quantities change in proportion to each other. In mathematics, a proportional relationship is one where the ratio between two quantities remains constant as the quantities vary. The most common form is direct proportionality, expressed as y = kx, where k is the constant of proportionality. If x is multiplied by a factor, y is multiplied by the same factor.
Inverse proportionality is another related concept, where quantities vary inversely: y = k/x. Here, as one quantity
Graphically, a direct proportional relationship appears as a straight line through the origin with slope k.
In education, students learn to identify direct and inverse proportionalities, calculate constants of proportionality, and apply
