Primärfokus

Primärfokus is a term used in several contexts, most notably in optics and photography. In optics, it refers to the point where parallel rays of light converge after passing through a lens. This point is crucial for image formation. For a convex lens, the primary focal point is the point on the principal axis where incident parallel rays converge. Conversely, for a concave lens, it is the point from which parallel rays appear to diverge.

In photography, Primärfokus is closely related to the concept of depth of field. It refers to the specific distance at which a camera lens is focused. Objects at the Primärfokus are rendered the sharpest. Anything closer to or farther away from the camera than the Primärfokus will appear progressively less sharp, a phenomenon determined by the lens aperture and focal length. Achieving the correct Primärfokus is a fundamental aspect of composing and executing a photograph. Understanding and controlling Primärfokus allows photographers to selectively emphasize or de-emphasize elements within their image, guiding the viewer's eye.
