Polymeroidut
Polymeroidut is a Finnish term that translates to "polymerized" or "polymers" in English. In a scientific context, it refers to the process of polymerization or the resulting macromolecules themselves. Polymerization is a chemical reaction in which small molecules, known as monomers, combine to form a larger molecule, a polymer, through a repeating structural unit. These polymers can be natural, like proteins and nucleic acids, or synthetic, such as polyethylene and nylon.
The properties of polymers are highly dependent on the type of monomers used, the length of the
