Polykromaattiset

Polykromaattiset is a term derived from Greek, meaning "many-colored." It is primarily used in optics and physics to describe phenomena or materials that exhibit different colors depending on the viewing angle or the wavelength of light. This effect is often due to thin-film interference, where light waves reflect off the top and bottom surfaces of a thin layer. The difference in the path length of these reflected waves causes certain wavelengths to constructively interfere (appearing as a vibrant color) and others to destructively interfere (disappearing or appearing less intense).
