Poincare

Poincaré is a surname of French origin, most famously associated with Henri Poincaré, a highly influential mathematician, theoretical physicist, and philosopher of science. Born in Nancy, France, in 1854, Henri Poincaré made significant contributions to a vast range of mathematical fields including number theory, algebra, topology, and the theory of dynamical systems. His work laid much of the groundwork for what would later be known as algebraic topology.
