Pleystein
Pleystein is a municipality in the district of Erzgebirgskreis in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It lies in the southern Ore Mountains, roughly 10 kilometres north of Annaberg-Buchholz and about 35 kilometres west of the Saxon capital Leipzig. The town covers an area of 14.7 square kilometres and sits at an elevation of approximately 570 metres above sea level. As of the latest census, its population is around 1,400 residents. Postal code 09579 and area code 03743 are used for communication services. The licence plate prefix for vehicles registered here is ERZ. The current mayor, elected for the term 2022–2029, is Uwe Bock.
