Platrood

Platrood is a city-state and regional capital on the Platrood Plateau in the eastern highlands of the fictional continent of Aeloris. It serves as an administrative and cultural hub for the plateau region and maintains limited autonomous powers within the Grand Federation of Aeloris.

The name Platrood is believed to derive from the local language, combining plat meaning flat and rood meaning roof or crest, a reference to the plateau’s flat summit and protective ridges.

Geography and climate: The city sits near the center of the plateau, surrounded by terraced fields and limestone escarpments. Elevations range from roughly 400 to 900 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with dry summers and a rainy season from November to March.

History: Platrood is first referenced in records dating to the 12th century, when it formed around a hilltop fortress. It achieved de facto autonomy in the region during the 15th century and adopted a constitutional charter in the 19th century. The city experienced modernization and population growth in the 20th century and has since developed a diversified economy.
