Planterøttens

It includes primary roots, lateral roots, root hairs, and storage roots, as well as tissues such as the root cap and vasculature.

Anatomy and development: Typical components include the root cap protecting the apical meristem, the zone of cell division, elongation, and maturation, and internal tissues such as the epidermis, cortex, endodermis, and stele. Root hairs extend the absorptive surface. Mycorrhizal associations and bacterial rhizosphere communities are common features.
