Pittencrieff
Pittencrieff is a locality in Scotland, situated near the town of Dunfermline in Fife. Its most prominent feature is Pittencrieff Park, a large public park that was formerly the estate of the Laird of Pittencrieff. The park is known for its historical significance, containing the ruins of Dunfermline Palace and Abbey, as well as the Glen, a deep wooded ravine with a burn running through it. The park was gifted to the town of Dunfermline in 1902 by its former owner, Andrew Carnegie, who was born in Dunfermline and later became a prominent industrialist and philanthropist in the United States.
Carnegie's vision for Pittencrieff Park was to create a place for public enjoyment and recreation. The park
