Pintia

Pintia is a wine produced by Bodegas Pintia, located in the Toro DO region of Spain. The estate was established in 2001 by the Álvarez family, who also own the renowned Vega Sicilia winery. Bodegas Pintia is situated on the right bank of the Duero River, with vineyards planted on gravelly soils at altitudes of around 700-800 meters. The primary grape variety used is Tinta de Toro, the local name for Tempranillo.

The winemaking philosophy at Pintia focuses on expressing the unique terroir of Toro through its Tinta de Toro grapes. The wines are known for their intense color, ripe fruit character, and structured tannins. Following fermentation, the wines typically undergo aging in French oak barrels for an extended period, contributing complexity and a smooth finish. Pintia aims to produce wines that are both powerful and elegant, reflecting the distinct climate and soil conditions of the region.
