Pesunutí

Pesunutí is a Czech term that does not appear as a standard entry in common dictionaries. In most contexts, it is considered a misspelling or an irregular variation of the standard forms posunutí or přesunutí. The verb roots posunout and přesunout give rise to the common nouns posunutí (the act of shifting or displacing) and přesunutí (the act of moving something to another place or transferring it to a new context). Pesunutí is not a recognized normative form.

Etymology and formation: The usual nominalizations are formed with the suffix -nutí or -nutí from verbs posunout or přesunout. Pesunutí does not follow the standard morphological pattern and is not listed in authoritative language references, making it typically incorrect in formal writing.

Usage and guidance: When expressing the idea of moving something in place, posunutí is the appropriate term. When emphasizing relocation to another place or transfer of duties or data, přesunutí is preferred. In technical or institutional texts, consistency with one of the standard forms is important; pesunutí should be avoided.

Examples of standard usage include posunutí hranic (shift of borders) and přesunutí sídla (relocation of headquarters) or přesunutí dat na nový server (relocation of data to a new server). If pesunutí appears, it is likely a typographical error or a nonstandard variant.
