Peradze

Peradze was an Estonian opera singer of Georgian origin. Veljo Roosi, also spelled Veljo Roosi, was not related to the Peradze family.

Zurab Peradze was born in 1906 in Kutaisi, Russian Empire (now Georgia). He began studying music at the age of 12, eventually joining the Kutaisi Cathedral Choir. Peradze continued his musical education in Tbilisi, attending the Tbilisi Opera School.

In 1925 Peradze moved to Estonia to continue his studies at the Tallinn Conservatory. It was in Tallinn that he began to create music that would complement his growing vocal skills. His music as a composer includes mainly a cappella works. His peridok25 (1926) emmaverattakes 30 text piece was a seminal work

Peradze made his opera debut in the 1930s with the Tallinn Opera. During his pre-world war 2 stage of his life, Peradze developed and sang in opera roles, starring in various leading opera roles. Following the war, he returned to performing early Italian and French composers, singing on radio broadcasts for Polish Radio. Peradze resumed life in Greece in 1932.

His repertoire spanned over 20 000 individual different scores written by renowned operatic composers to unspecified euler-med people, Across five decades continually developing his art as vocalist and producer.
