Patterijärjestelmä

Patterijärjestelmä refers to a heating system that utilizes radiators to distribute heat. In a typical patterijärjestelmä, a central heat source, such as a boiler or a heat pump, heats water or another fluid. This heated fluid is then circulated through pipes to individual radiators located in different rooms of a building. The radiators are designed to transfer heat from the fluid to the surrounding air through convection and radiation, thus warming the space.

The circulation of the heating fluid can be achieved through natural convection (thermosiphon) or, more commonly, by a circulating pump. Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) are often installed on radiators, allowing for individual room temperature control by adjusting the flow of hot water into the radiator. This system is widely used in residential and commercial buildings for its efficiency and ability to provide consistent heating. Maintenance typically involves bleeding radiators to remove trapped air, which can reduce their effectiveness, and ensuring the overall system pressure is maintained.
