Pasupathi
Pasupathi is a Hindu deity, often referred to as the "Lord of the Bull," and is one of the 33 crores of Hindu deities. He is primarily worshipped in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, and is particularly revered in the city of Madurai. Pasupathi is known for his fierce and protective nature, often depicted with a bull (Nandi) at his feet, symbolizing his power and strength. The temple dedicated to him, the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, is one of the most famous and significant pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. The deity is often associated with the goddess Meenakshi, and together they are known as Meenakshi Sundareswarar. Pasupathi is also known by other names such as Sundareswarar, and is often invoked for protection, courage, and to overcome obstacles. His worship is prevalent in Tamil Nadu, and his festivals, such as the Brahmotsavam, attract a large number of devotees. The deity is also revered in other parts of India and among the Tamil diaspora worldwide.
