Parempien
Parempien is a Finnish grammatical form that functions as the genitive plural of the adjective parempi, meaning “better.” In Finnish, adjectives decline to agree with the nouns they modify in number and case, and parempi has the genitive plural form parempien. This form is used when describing a group or set of things regarded as being better, and it combines with a noun in genitive (or with other case forms) to form phrases such as parempien vaihtoehtojen, parempien mahdollisuuksien or parempien ihmisten.
Usage of parempien is common in expressions that compare quality or merit. It does not stand alone
- parempien vaihtoehtojen etsiminen — the search for better options
- parempien mahdollisuuksien hyödyntäminen — utilizing better opportunities
- parempien ihmisten auttaminen — helping the better people (in context, referring to a preferred or higher-quality group)
