Parasitización

Parasitización refers to the biological interaction where one organism, the parasite, lives on or within another organism, the host, and derives nutrients from it. This relationship is typically characterized by the parasite benefiting at the expense of the host, causing harm or reduced fitness to the host. Parasites can range in size from microscopic organisms like viruses and bacteria to larger multicellular animals such as ticks and worms. The host provides the parasite with shelter, food, and a means of reproduction.

The process of parasitization involves several stages. It often begins with the transmission of the parasite to a new host.
