Paralinguistiikka
Paralinguistics refers to the vocal aspects of speech that are not the words themselves. These nonverbal cues include elements such as tone of voice, pitch, speed of speaking, volume, intonation, rhythm, and the use of pauses and hesitations. Paralinguistic features can significantly alter the meaning of spoken words, conveying emotions, attitudes, and intentions that might not be explicit in the linguistic content. For instance, saying "That's great" with a sarcastic tone of voice communicates a very different message than saying it with genuine enthusiasm.
