PAK2
PAK2, also known as p21-activated kinase 2, is a serine/threonine kinase that belongs to the p21-activated kinase (PAK) family. These kinases are crucial regulators of the actin cytoskeleton and play significant roles in cell morphology, motility, and survival. PAK2 is activated by the small GTPases Rac1 and Cdc42. Upon activation, PAK2 phosphorylates a variety of downstream targets, influencing cellular processes such as cell adhesion, cell spreading, and cell division.
The gene encoding PAK2 is located on human chromosome 20. PAK2 is expressed in numerous tissues and
Research into PAK2 continues to explore its diverse functions and potential as a therapeutic target. Understanding
