Ozeanbeckens
Ozeanbeckens, also known as ocean basins, are the large depressions in the Earth's crust that are filled with water and form the oceans. They are primarily composed of oceanic crust, which is denser and thinner than continental crust. These basins are not flat plains but feature a diverse topography, including mid-ocean ridges, abyssal plains, trenches, and seamounts. The largest of these basins include the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic Oceans.
The formation and evolution of ocean basins are driven by plate tectonics. Seafloor spreading at mid-ocean
