Oxidrétegként

Oxidrétegként refers to a naturally occurring or intentionally formed layer of oxides on the surface of a metal. This layer, often called an oxide scale or rust in the case of iron, forms when the metal reacts with oxygen from the surrounding environment. The process of oxidation is a chemical reaction where the metal loses electrons to oxygen atoms. The resulting oxide layer can vary in thickness, color, and adherence depending on the specific metal and the environmental conditions. For some metals like aluminum and chromium, the oxide layer is thin, tough, and adherent, providing a protective barrier that prevents further corrosion. This passive layer is crucial for the metal's long-term durability.
