Otrera

In astronomy, Otrera is a retrograde object in the Kuiper Belt, a region of icy bodies beyond Neptune. It is a small, rocky object, approximately 120 kilometers in diameter, and orbits the Sun at a distance of about 28.3 astronomical units (AU). Otrera's discovery was announced in 2001, and it is named after the mythological figure. The object's official designation is (299463) Otrera, but it is also sometimes referred to as 2000 OS8.

Otrera is a plutoid, meaning it is a dwarf planet by some definitions. However, its size and orbital characteristics are not fully understood, and it is not officially classified as a dwarf planet. It is a significant object in the Kuiper Belt region, providing insights into the formation and evolution of the outer Solar System.
