OtApp

OtApp, also known as Otter Browser, is a free and open-source web browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It was initially created as a fork of the QupZilla web browser, another open-source project based on the Qt framework.

Developed by an independent team, OtApp's primary goal is to provide a simple, lightweight, and intuitive web browsing experience. The project's founder, Marek Polach, aimed to create a browser that combines the features of both QupZilla and the web browser available in the KDE desktop environment.

OtApp has a user-friendly interface, displaying a basic tab bar and URL navigation bar at the top. The browser's core functionality is focused on common web browsing tasks, with built-in support for bookmarks, history, and private browsing modes. It also features a tab management system, allowing users to rearrange and customize their browsing workflow.

In terms of technical specifications, OtApp uses the WebKit engine to render web pages and provides support for various HTML5 standards and multimedia features, including video playback and audio streaming. It is also compatible with various font rendering engines and HTML5 APIs, enabling robust web content support.

In 2017, the OtApp project transitioned to a new main repository and a revamped website, marking significant advancements in its development and user support infrastructure. As an open-source project, the codebase is available for review and modification, fostering collaboration among developers interested in contributing to the browser's continued growth and improvement.
