Oostvleteren

Oostvleteren is a village in the Belgian province of West Flanders. It is part of the municipality of Vleteren. The village is situated in the Westhoek region, an area known for its agricultural landscape and its historical significance during World War I.

Historically, Oostvleteren was an independent municipality until it was merged with Westvleteren and Oost-Vleteren to form the new municipality of Vleteren in 1977. The name "Vleteren" itself is derived from local geographical features.
